Remembering Travis Manion

Doylestown Native Proudly Served His Country

The Philadelphia lacrosse community is sad to learn of the death of Travis Manion, a U.S. Marine who died serving his country in Iraq. Travis was a three sport All-Catholic athlete at LaSalle College High School, where he maintained a 3.7 GPA. An outstanding lacrosse player who helped the Explorers win 2 Catholic League titles, Travis later attended the US Naval Academy, where he wrestled for the Midshipmen. He was a volunteer coach in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel youth lacrosse program in Doylestown, and was revered by the kids he coached. Travis was on his second tour of duty when he was hit by a sniper's bullet in Anbar Province. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones.
