Shipley's Stokes sets mark

Shipley senior Tara Stokes breaks 200 goals in Saturday’s game versus Wyoming Seminary. Before the season began Tara had tallied 169 goals and 112 assists for 281 points her first three years. To date this season, Tara has 34 goals for 203 goals over the past four years.

Tara led the Gators to a Friends Schools League Championship in 2007 with 5 goals in the Championship game. Tara has been voted as Most Valuable Player of her team since her sophomore season.

This four-year starter and two-year captain has been named to the All-League First Team since freshman year, as well as All-Main Line First Team her sophomore and junior years and Second Team as a freshman. She has also played on one of the National Tournament Teams for the past two years.

Tara signed a Letter of Intent in November to play lacrosse next year at Duke University.
