 Dennis Fink - 2001

Dennis Fink, "a truly great player", was one of Stu Brown's first Springfield Athletic Association players to go on to gain acclaim in college lacrosse.As a high school student, Dennis played for the Springfield A.A. team between 1971 & 1974.

He began his collegiate career at Lebanon Valley College in '75 before transferring to Drexel University in '76. At Drexel, Dennis led the team to the 1978 East Coast Conference Championship and was the team's leading scorer and MVP in both '76 & '78. He was a three time 1st Team All-ECC performer ('76, '77, '78), and in 1978, he was an Honorable Mention All-American selection and played in the North-South All-Star Game. For his collegiate accomplishments, Dennis appeared in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" in May '78.

Between 1975 and 1985, Dennis played for Main Line Lacrosse Club, Mile Post Lacrosse Club and Eagles' Eye Lacrosse Club.

Dennis has also contributed to the game as a coach. In 1975, he was an assitant coach for the Springfield A.A. high school level team, and in the '87-'89 period he coached the Springfield A.A.7th & 8th grade team. In '97 &'98 he coached in the West Chester Youth program, and since '99 he has be active in the Memphis, Tennessee youth lacrosse program. He also spent two seasons coaching in the club ranks as an assistant with Eagles' Eye in '87 and with Phila. Lacrosse Club in '96. In 1987, he was selected as the Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association's "Man of the Year" for his work in youth lacrosse.
